SA SMSF Audit Partners

Independent SMSF audits, for accounting firms.

We audit. That is all we do. We do not prepare accounts, lodge tax returns or administer funds — so we are never competing for the clients you send us.

Why firms refer their audits to us

Three things matter when you hand a client's fund to someone else.

We don't compete with you

Audit only. No tax, no administration, no advice to your clients. Your client stays your client.

Fewer questions, answered faster

We check the fund before the audit starts and send you one clear list of what we need — not a trickle of emails over three weeks.

A file that stands up

Every check is recorded against the requirement it satisfies. If the ATO ever asks, the working is there.

How it works

From sending us the fund to a signed report.

  1. Send the fund Send the trial balance and the supporting documents. We tell you immediately if anything on the checklist is missing.
  2. We prepare and check Balances, contributions, pensions, in-house assets, borrowings, valuations and documents are checked and matched to the requirements they satisfy.
  3. One query list You get every question at once, each with the reason it is being asked. A simple fund has a handful; a difficult one has more.
  4. The auditor reviews and signs An ASIC-registered approved SMSF auditor forms the opinion, signs the report, and lodges a contravention report where one is required.
  5. Report back to you Audit report and management letter, within five working days of a complete file.

Fees

Published, so you can quote your client before you send us the fund. A simple fund costs less than a complicated one, because it takes less work — we would rather say so than average it out.

Straight answers

The questions firms ask before they send us the first one.

Who signs the report? An ASIC-registered approved SMSF auditor at Ming Yang & Co, which operates this service. The auditor's SAN is on every report.
Will you approach our clients? No. We do not offer accounting, tax or administration to SMSF trustees. It is the reason this service exists separately.
Do you use software and AI? Yes, for the preparation and checking. Every check is documented so another professional can see what was done and why. The audit opinion is formed by the auditor, not by software.
Is any work done overseas? Some preparation work is performed by our team outside Australia, under supervision. This is disclosed in our engagement letter as required, and the audit itself is conducted and signed in Australia.
What do you need from us? A trial balance and the supporting documents. We will tell you exactly what is missing on the day you send the fund, not three weeks later.
How do we send it to you? Not by email. We set up a folder for your firm inside our Microsoft 365, shared with the people you name, and you put each fund in its own folder. Your client's records never sit in anyone's inbox, and the signed report comes back to the same place.
What happens to our client's documents? Held securely, access controlled, and retained for the period the standards require. Nothing is used for any other purpose.

Send us a fund

Email or call and we will set your firm up. You will get the document checklist for the fund type, and somewhere to send the file.

Tell us your firm, roughly how many funds a year, and what you prepare them in. We reply to you, not to your client — we never contact a trustee without your say-so.
